Diagnostic check
As part of your visit, we’ll run a diagnostic check to see if there are any outstanding software updates for your vehicle. Some updates may take a while, and may need a return visit, your retailer can advise you on any recommended next steps.
Air filter change
The Air filter plays an important role in keeping the engine healthy. Over time, dust, pollen and debris build up in the filter, which can make it harder for the engine to breathe. We cover replacement to ensure engine performance and fuel efficiency, as part of the bigger service if its needed.
MOT test
Vehicles three years and older are required by law to have an MOT test carried out every year. This is to ensure that the vehicle meets the minimum road safety standards (please note that in Northern Ireland this product covers MOT pre-checks and the cost of the MOT test). Any repair work required as a result of an MOT failure is excluded.
Pollen filter replacement
Your Pollen filter traps dust, pollen, pollution, and debris. Over time it clogs, reducing airflow and making your heating / AC work harder. We cover the replacement as part of the bigger service if its needed.
What's excluded
A Service Plan doesn't cover every item that might be needed. Age, mileage and driving conditions all affect how parts wear, which can make some replacements less predictable. Our plans cover the main service costs, and to help you feel confident about what to expect, here’s an overview of the items that are not included:
Standard Plan
- Not included: MOTs for vehicles aged between 0 and 6 years old
- Not included: Automatic gearbox oil change
- Not included: Brake fluid change
- Not included: Cambelt replacement
- Not included: Alternator belt replacement
- Not included: Diesel fuel filter replacement
- Not included: Spark plug replacement for petrol models
- Not included: Engine air filter replacement

FAQs
After I purchase a Service Plan, how long do I need to wait to book my next service?
Once you have bought a Service Plan we will send you a confirmation email and you can book in for a service straight away.
What happens if I want to sell my car?
Our Service Plans are non-refundable; however, the plan can easily be transferred to a new owner. To do this, you can email us at CustomerServices@vwfs.co.uk with the new owner’s name and address. Alternatively, the new owner can send us a copy of the full V5 for us to complete the transfer.
What happens if I don’t use my services?
Our Service Plans are non-refundable; however the plan stays with the car and the services can be utilised at any point. The plan will close once all the services have been claimed. The plan can also be transferred to a new owner. If you decide to sell the vehicle and would like to transfer the plan to the new owner, simply email us on CustomerServices@vwfs.co.uk with the new owner’s name and address. Alternatively, the new owner can send us a copy of the full V5 for us to complete the transfer.
Can I buy a Service Plan as a gift?
No, the Service Plan must be registered for and paid by the same person. The details you enter to register for a Service Plan will be used to set up your payment option.
I live outside UK mainland and Northern Ireland, can I buy a Service Plan?
Yes, you can purchase a Service Plan if you live outside UK mainland however, before purchasing a Service Plan we recommend locating your nearest Volkswagen retailer. We do not offer Service Plans in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
If you are a resident of the Channel Islands or Isle of Man Service Plans are not available to purchase online, however If you require a vehicle service please speak to your local Authorised Repairer for more information.
What happens after I have purchased a Volkswagen Service Plan?
Once you have successfully completed your payment, we will send you a confirmation by email. This will include your agreement number, and details of the plan you have purchased. You can then book in for a service when it is due, advising the Retailer that you have a Service Plan, from which they can take payment from us, when it gets to that stage.
What does my Service include?
A service for a petrol, diesel or hybrid engine will include draining and replacing the oil and filter. We’ll also check for software updates and a wash and vacuum at participating Retailers.
During inspection if we find that something needs to be replaced, this is highlighted to you, but is not included.
Volkswagen will keep digital records of all services carried out, for peace of mind too.

Is my MOT included?
You can't add MOTs separately, however, some of our plans come with MOTs depending on the age of the vehicle.

Terms and Conditions
^Excludes electric vehicles and vehicles with an existing Service Plan. Vehicles that have been out of a warranty (that has been provided by Volkswagen UK or Volkswagen Financial Services) for more than 30 days will have a no-claim period of 30 days at the start of their All-in Plan. Volkswagen Group provides the All-in Warranty free of charge following purchase of an All-in Plan. The All-in Warranty does not cover any vehicle already covered under any other guarantee, insurance, warranty and/or gesture of goodwill. All-in Plan validity is dependent on required payments received.
*Pay monthly option for vehicles under 200,000 miles. Servicing must be carried out in line with the requirements of the service schedule at a Volkswagen UK Authorised Repairer. Additional work, including wear and tear, is excluded. Service Plan validity is dependent on required payments received. Plus Plan is not available for Volkswagen Touareg.
Two free MOTs are funded by Volkswagen UK and the supplying retailer.
